For main course I had the Jungle curry which was pretty spicy - think vindaloo - but had tremendous flavours of lemongrass and Thai herbs, without coconut milk which I am not a big fan of. My wife had giants prawns with a spicy dip, and they really were giant prawns, the type you see in the supermarket and walk by because they must be too expensive. Trouble was that the sauce was a bit too spicy for her and the prawns needed a sauce or they were a bit dry. Still good, as were the accompanying noodles.
The service has been commented on here, and it was excellent throughout, we were sat at a table next to the open door, which was a bit draughty, but they were happy to move us when another table came free, and were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The place was full, and people were turned away so best to make a reservation.
So why only 4 stars? We thought the portions were rather small, especially the main course, and the cost of the beer was rather high, although wine was fairly priced. The total cost was £50 for two including two beers for me and a coke for my wife, so not too bad, but not cheap.
